Three World Premieres by Camerata Singers
2006 marked our 25th anniversary. In honor of that anniversary, we commissioned three pieces which we will premiere during our season.
San Francisco composer Kirke Mechem wrote for us a lovely setting of Dona Nobis Pacem (Grant us peace) which we sang on our program last May.
Monterey native Nathanael Pangrazio gave us the lovely Absalom Fili Mi (Absalom my son) which we performed last March with the Mozart Requiem.
Last May we sang the world premiere of I Do Not Wish You Joy Without A Sorrow, by Jeffrey H. Rickard, Director of Choral Activities at University of Redlands in southern California.
It has been our privilege and our joy to celebrate our 25th anniversary by supporting both established and "up and coming" choral composers in the commissioning of these pieces.
