In keeping with our mission of teaching, singing, learning, Camerata Singers began the Camerata Futures program, which brings auditioned students from area high schools in to sing with the group for our March concerts. If you are, or know of, a student with a talent for singing please contact our music director John Koza
Mission:
To provide high school students the opportunity to rehearse and perform advanced choral literature with the Camerata Singers. The Camerata Futures program offers this unique opportunity to students who meet entrance criteria and who exhibit the ability to be accomplished in a relatively short time period.
Acceptance:
A maximum of eight students per year are admitted into the program at the sole discretion of the Camerata Futures Program Committee. All applicants will be notified in writing of their admission or non-admission.
Term:
Students rehearse with Camerata Singers each Tuesday evening for approximately 10 weeks. This schedule starts with the first scheduled rehearsal in January. The program culminates with a weekend of performances the first or second weekend of March.
Rehearsals:
Rehearsals begin at 7:00 p.m. and end at 10:00 p.m. in Salinas, including a day-long singing retreat (rehearsal) sometime in February.
