“Our April concert opens with Mozart's Missa Brevis in G Major. Mozart’s first missa brevis is unlike his other works in this genre; he uses the viola with violins and continuo. Reflecting our concert’s theme and message, the work concludes with Dona Nobis Pacem… (Grant Us Peace).

We conclude the first half of our concert with our “new” tradition of featuring our incredible collaborative pianist, Lucy Faridany performing a piece of her choosing.

After intermission, we perform a collection of pieces in the theme of peace. You will hear "What a Wonderful World" (made famous by Louis Armstrong), an African piece, Siyahamba and more world music reflecting on the need for the world to focus on joining together.

We hope to see you in Salinas or Monterey for this special celebration of choral music - a call for collaboration of all people."

Dear Audience & Supporters -

Thank you so much for your support during the 2023 MC Gives! campaign. Your donations totaled more than $21,000.00, exceeding last year’s donations of ($19,000).

Your support means more than ever to us and our audience. Our MC Gives! idea is bringing the healing properties of music to members of the Assisted Living community.

"Hearing and seeing the singers perform their beautiful pieces calms me and brings me back to a time when I ...sang with my church choir. Hearing their voices reminds me of how music helps me feel better."

These words were written to us by a long-time audience member after our first performance at a local nursing home. Many of our older audience members no longer feel comfortable venturing out of their homes to attend open communal gatherings. Your financial support is making our assisted living facilities a reality.
